I took the shot - depo provera, dont know about the Q and #s but, it just screwed my period up and I ended up on birth control, because I spotted almost all the time while I was on it, and when I got off it I would go a couple months with no period, and I would then get my period a couple times the next month, but really light, it was terrible I ruined all my panties!!!

My friend had a worse experience, she was in pain and bled for weeks on end sometimes.

Also, it does have a failure rate, although rather low, and if you did get pregnant, you can't just stop taking it, you have to have it in your babys bloodstream until it is gone! Your return to fertility can take up to 18 months I think.

My mission in life has become getting people to not start getting the shot lol!

I’ve been on the depo, I get headaches almost everyday. I do feel kind of down and blue, the breakthrough bleeding sux and can last for weeks. I do feel hungry all the time but I was fortunate not to gain any weight; I usually lose but that could be from the nausea. I get acne and anxiety. The worst part is that once you get it you cant reverse it; you have to wait till it wears off. I once heard that estrogen injections would reverse it but im not sure.

I've known a few ppl to take this shot and they all had negative side effects. Some of which are weight gain, irregular bleeding, acne, anxiety, backaches, bloating, depression, leg cramps, hair loss or excessive hair growth, or loss of sex drive. It can also take a while to get your regular cycle back once you stop the shot, which means if you're trying to get pregnant it could take longer. Good luck.

I was on depo for four years and I am so glad I am OFF of it.

Every woman is different, but a majority of women on this shot have very nasty negative side affects.

It is so bad that there are class action lawsuits against Pfizer for what it does to women.

I am on Kariva now and much happier. Please do NOT get this shot!

I'm on the depo shot currently, I have been on it for 2 years. It's totally worth it, I haven't gotten pregnant or had a period since I've been on it! I say go for it!
