I've done a few pages of Yahoo! search for bass guitar lessons in my area.... found some stuff. But I still need to buy a bass guitar, so I'm just browsing for now. What sort of price should I pay? Like what's normal, what's ridiculous, and what's cheap? I would get a video, book, or computer software, but I got computer software for acoustic guitar and it totally didn't make sense. I'm the kind of person that has to have someone else there to explain stuff to me. LOL. So, can you recommend any sites or people? Or information I SHOULD be looking for?

And again, what's a good price range?

(sorry for the length)

It’s better to learn on an acoustic first and if the software you bought didn’t make sense for an acoustic and it won’t be any easier on a bass guitar. If you’re having trouble teaching yourself then you should definitely take lessons. Usually you’ll see flyers around town or in the newspaper. Try your local college; I always see guitar lessons advertised all over campus. Usually when you’re taking lessons they will let you use their guitar if you don’t have your own.

If I were you, I would visit my local music stores and explain what you just explained to us.
There are beginning bass packages available and most music stores give lessons.
