It was during the early years of Pac Bell Park, either 2001 or 2002, for an exhibition game. I have the t-shirt commemorating the game.

In addition, I believe that it was fitting that the Yankees honored SF with their presence. We've watched them in Oakland, but they helped christen our new stadium in a great way during that exhibition game!

The Giants and Yankees have met only once before in interleague play, three games in NYC in 2002 (6/7-9). The Yanks won the first and third games.

Prior to that, and the last time the games were in San Francisco, would be the 1962 World Series. Games 1, 2, 6, and 7 (Oct. 4, 5, 15, & 16) were played in Candlestick Park.

Games that counted, anyway.

I could be wrong but the last time the Yanks went to San fran was in 1962. When they played the Giants a few years ago they played in Yankee Stadium.
