Does anyone know who the maker is for the Kenmore 70 series clothes dryer? Whrilpool or Maytag or someone else?

Ok, I know it is SOLD at Sears, but it is manufactured by some other company. My dryer repair guy told me that Sears does not manufacture washers and dryers, but they put their name on the brand. So, my question again is: Who manufactures the Kenmore 70 series Dryer? Thank you.

What difference does it make? Do you need parts? You can go to Sears.com and order parts by just entering the model & serial numbers. Sears sells Kenmore appliances, and yes they are manufactured by someone else (Maytag, Whirlpool etc.) But you cannot call a Maytag store and try to order parts for a Kenmore. They can't be cross-refrenced that way.

Kenmore has been manufactured by almost all of the major appliance companies in the past. I beleive that the 70 series was done my Whirlpool at that time. You might be able to find out by having the Kenmore company research the serial number.

Whirlpool, Maytag and Kenmore are all different brands. Kenmore is made by Sears.

I thought that Kenmore was a Sears brand.

We just purchased a new set and I believe the salesman said Whirlpool. Regardless, they are both really good appliances.
