So i have been dilated to 2cm for the past 4 weeks! No changes at all! What i am wondering is--did this happen to anyone else and then you suddenly went into labor? I went to the doctor today, still no change. I lost mucus plug last night but have been having bloody show for the past 3 weeks!
So just because i have not progressed at all doesnt mean that i couldnt go into labor any day now, right?? Please tell me your experience!!

You could go into labor any minute now, you don't have to be fully dialated or anything to start labor. Some women go into labor without their water breaking, without losing the mucus plug, without previous dialation or effacement. Your baby and your body are the only ones to know when they're ready.

Don't stress you CAN still go into labor any day now. I stayed at 2cm and 75% thinned for two weeks went to the doc on a tuesday (no changes) went into labor wednesday evening!!!!!! So Good Luck!!!

I went from 1cm (for 3 weeks) to suddenly having contractions and full blown labor in just a matter of hours. In fact, the first time we went to the hospital, my contractions were 25-30 minutes apart and irregular and I was still only at 1 cm. So, they said that I was just dehydrated and sent me home. By the time we got home (15 minute drive), my contractions were 10 minutes apart. I sent my husband to his office to do some last minute things "just in case" the baby was born later that day or the next and I quickly regretted sending him away. Within another 10 minutes after he left, I had to call my parents to come and take me to the hospital because my contractions were only 4 minutes apart. When we got there, I was dialated to 6cm and my daughter was born within an hour.

Things can move very quick at the end. As soon as that baby is ready, it just might fly :)

Hang in there--you're almost done!!!!!!!

Good luck and God bless you and your new baby!!!!!!!!!!!

I was dilated with my youngest for quite some time, but I had no warning when I went into labor. I had braxton hicks from 5.5 months on, and much worse ones for the last month. One night, I had the annoying contractions, so I finally gave up on sleeping at 3 a.m. and as soon as I sat up in bed to go watch t.v., my water broke. You don't have to receive a warning, sometimes it just happens!

You could go at any time, none of that matters, especially since this is your first child. I wasn't really progressing, I was at 1-2, the baby hadn't descended, my cervix was still high at 40 wks. Then, my water broke at 40w 5d and I progressed very fast. I hadn't really had contractions before that, but they came fast and consistently and I had no trouble. I actually delivered him in 4 hours from the time my water broke! Don't worry about if the baby has "dropped" or anything, because it can all happen really fast. Just hang in there, it will happen soon! And good luck, enjoy every moment with your baby, he/she is coming SOON!

Well, yeah, any day now. You're full term. Baby isn't going to stay in there forever. But it could be a few more days. Be good to yourself. Get some sleep. Eat HEALTHY foods and drink plenty of clean water to give you the energy to get through labor. Be as patient as you can be -- think of it as practice in being a patient parent! Congratulations on your soon-to-be born baby!

u could go into labor any day but u probably wont dial ate without help. my sis never made it past 4 cm and wound up having a Cesarean. not trying 2 scare u but maybe natural childbirth isn't the way for you. better luck next time.

definite thats your plug and it could pop out over fairly a volume of time because it regenerates. As you're 40+ weeks it might desire to advise that labour is extremely close to so i could be waiting to have your toddler any day now :-)
