TO some extent. We already have luxury cars that have a forward radar/sonar that warns about too high closing speed.

My Toyota FJ cruiser has a reversing warning. It beeps at me as I reverse closer & closer to the vehicle behind. As the FJ has horrible rear visibility, this is a real treasure.

So I think we'll see more & more driver aids appear.

Even before that in areas of high volume traffic, particularly in the eastern United States. Car pooling will also be the law, so fleets of such cars will likely be owned by entrepeneurs and programmed for stops (and starts) at certain addresses.

the computer driven car is a reality now. The cost of putting them into manufacture and creating the roadways required for them to run on is prohibitive, so unless the country comes into a whole lot of money, I don't expect to see it ever happen.

dont know about in 20, maybe 50 or 60 but its not impossible
