You can make luminaries to line your walkway at Christmas time. Fill the can with water and freeze. When frozen, remove, and with a nail or punch, punch a simple snowflake design on the side. Allow the ice to melt and spray paint with what ever color you like. Add a votive candle cup and candle inside and place along your walkway. Light them at night. You need to freeze the water inside so the can won't dent when you punch the holes. Do a search for simple 'metal punched snowflake designs'.

Make a tin can man by piecing them together. He can be a piece of outdoor sculpture who is also a member of the family. He'll also be a memory of your baby's babyhood. I'm about to have one too (well, not me, I'm a guy), and I think I will do that.

Along with stone, mud and animal parts, wood was one of the first materials worked by early humans. Microwear analysis of the Mousterian stone tools used by the Neanderthals show that many were used to work wood. The development of civilization was closely tied to the development of increasingly greater degrees of skill in working these materials.

I'm not sure you're into it but you can make towers or citadels for tabletop games. I saw someone do it with a Pringels can. if you find it interesting to do but don't know what to do with it after, you can go to a local Games-Workshop store.
Here's a link for inspiration on how to design it.
