It actually means a lot to me to name my first daughter Marilyn after my mothers older sister who died before I was born, but I can't think of a shortened nickname for Marilyn Marie so I have thought of using a different middle name, can you suggest a different middle name for Marilyn or a nickname for Marilyn Marie?

I wanted to use Marie because it is my mothers middle name and I think it fits with Marilyn well.

Too many names. Dont do that to them. Think of how it will be for them filling out forms. There is not enough room on official state exams for all those names. Pick 1 middle name for each child and 1 first name for each. Too many names and there last names will get cut off of official documents. People will assume Marilyn and marie are their last names when they are seperate ( in different classes, as they grow older).

my mother's name is marilyn but has always gone by lynn. i think it's kind of boring though... as a kid she could go by lynnie perhaps? i like the marilyn marie combo, nice alliteration.

I could see her friends calling her Mars, or M&M, or MarMar.

I like the name you have chosen...don't get me wrong. Nicknames come but somehow they never go. My son's name is Matthew but his friends call him Matty.

What a marvelous name!
I see nothing wrong with it and I think your first daughter would be very proud to carry on a name that means so much to you and your family.

Go with your heart..

It is such a nice name, why do you want to change it and use a nick name?
