My boyfriend wants us to name out kid Sephiroth. I'm not sure if i should or not, hes not the type to communicate and come up with an agreement and i like the name Wyatt and he said if it my son cant be names Sephiroth then hell have nothing to do with his baby. So what do i do? Noone likes the name and i fear my son will get picked on, but i dont want to hurt his feelings cause is REALLY set on this name and has been before i met him.

If he really feels that way, then you're waaaay better off without him. You're going to have your hands full doing what's best for your baby, and you won't need such an immature guy trying to interfere. He obviously needs to put down the Final Fantasy VIII and grow up. Be strong, honey! Don't let him blackmail you like this! If you give in, he will threaten you and the baby with leaving every time he doesn't get his childish way! You've got your own child to raise now. Send your boyfriend back to his own mommy; she obviously still has some work to do with him.

Okay, honey, I've been where you have. My boyfriend didn't help me name our son at all. Now he makes a big fuss over him because its his only son; to date:) But be glad that he is willing to help you try and pick a name. Though it is an unusual name don't turn it down because you don't like it. Or make it a Middle name, a nickname, or give your son 4 names. I doubt he'd totally ignore the child. He may say so, but men have a hard time expressing their concerns and feelings. Tell him to pick up the book, He-Motions, by T.D Jakes. But don't start an argument about the name, focus more on your relationship and your child. What is more important?

What you need to do is sit him down and talk to him about what you feel even if he is not one to communicate. Come to think of it, if he is not one to communicate, I do not see how he could be a good anything, whether boyfriend, father or husband. And if he wants to leave you due to the name of a baby, then sweetheart you need to reevaluate this relationship because if he will leave because of a name, he'll probably leave because the baby poops too much. But to stop not minding my own business, since your boyfriend obviously likes unique names, come up with some names by yourself such as: Cairo (ky-row) Cresten, Valentino, Payton, Kagney, Johan, anything besides the one he wants.

even thought he is not a person to communicate very well, this is something you guys HAVE to talk about. He is your child as well as his, so you both have a say in it. He might have a reason why he likes that name and you need to find out why is that name important to him. After you understand that then maybe he can agree on putting it as a middle name. And another conversation you guys have to talk about is HE CANNOT THREATEN YOU ABOUT LEAVING BECAUSE OF SILLY THINGS LIKE THIS... if you let this go without addressing it, he will threaten you with this with every situation where he doesn't get his way.

If he won't have anything to do with the baby because of a name DO YOU REALLY THINK he is going to stay in this child's life anyway.
Sorry honey, but most likely you will be a single mom. Save yourself a lot of heart ache --- name and raise your baby as you see fit.
This guy is way to immature to be dad.
If you really want to do yourself a favor -- Leave the father's name blank on the birth certificate , it will be less of a hassle when some decent guy comes along who cares about you and the baby enough to claim him as his own. ( This was advice I gave my daughter and she thanked me years later when she met Mr. Right. )

Your boyfriend needs to stop being childish-Having nothing to do with the baby if he can'tget his way? Tell him to grow up! Maybe you can use it as middle name if he is that set on it-you never use your middle name for anything anyway-only when your mother yells at you-mostly just your middle inital so Wyatt S. __________ should be a great name!

Are you serious? I have never heard this name before. And him saying that he wants nothing to do with the baby if it doesn't have his name is insanity. I wouldn't want someone this childish around my baby. My advice is to use it as a middle name. Wyatt is a cute name though!

It depends on what country you live in, If you lilve in the United States...the kid would be tortured with a name like that. I can't even pronounce it
tell him that you will compermise and use it as a middle name.

You can try using a name from a family member that you both know or admire, or one of his family members that you may like a agree on the name.
