floating or hovering?

ive alwasy wondered how to do it..i kno several people who can but noone will tell me..its the whole magicians never reveal there secrets..does anyone kno how to do it

one way to levitate an object is sending an electric current. a lifter is a geometric shape made of balsa wood and aluminum foil. you send an electrical current through it and it starts to hover in midair. another example is your hair. touching a van de graff machine or rubbing a balloon on your head can make your hair float above your head. obviously sending an electrical current through your body doesnt sound so pretty, nor would it work with so much mass. on stage, a way they could create the illusion is by using mirrors. in the old west when they would make an image of a ghost, a person would dress up in white sheets and go to a compartment beneath the stage. there would be a tricky yet simple setup of mirrors going to the stage where the image of a 'floating ghost' would be projected.
