When is the best time to drive from Orange County to San Fransisco on a Thursday?

You want to leave no later than 6:00 am.

The reason is traffic in both locations. If you leave later than 6:00am, you will fight the LA morning traffic. However it's a 7-8 hour drive to SF, so if you leave behind the LA morning traffic you run right into the teeth of the SF traffic rush at the other end of your trip. Not a fun thing after being on the road for 7 hours.
