I'm a moderate libertarian conservative ie I'm a modern version of jefferson and adam....

I like many of Ron Paul's domestic views. I do think the process of shrinking government will take time and it will take a unique leadership. I believe he generally views it in that manner as well.

I don't agree with his foreign policy. It would have been great in 1908, but today we live in a world where our threats can get here with missiles and planes very easily. He was against going in Afganistan, which most dems and repubs were for. While he has a view that we have role in what people think of us....which I'm not going to say is entirely false; but if you research the fundamental reasons of why they think the way they do....you'll find them utterly irrational e.g

A few of the 9/11 hijackers quoted on video that they attacked us due to our involvement in the balkans....where we saved MUSLIMS!? Fairly senseless, yes?

Also...
Bin Laden pissed and moaned when the Saudis wouldn't allow him to attack Saddam back in the days and they offered that role to America. Another reason that moron decided we were the enemy. So Paul's vision of foreign policy is a bit too idealistic, and not quite reasonable in these days and ages.

The simple reason to like Ron Paul his his view of the role of the central government .
There is none except to negotiate treaties with foreign nations and protect the people from foreign invasion . He would close down the federal departments that have been created and let the states deal with the issues .
Why should I pay taxes to support The space program .
When everyone has a home and everyone has food and when everyone is cared for then we can devote time on things like going to the Moon .
When we have an economy based on working for the good of all people and not an individual pay check . Then we will have accomplished something .

As an independent I would vote for Mr. Paul for several reasons. He doesn't pander to me, he's honest enough to put the blame on the things our country has done instead of denying them and he firmly believes in the constitution and is willing to at least try to strike down some of the things that are unconstitutional. To me he might be a little nuts, but he's a breath of fresh air compared to the crooks in Washington.

I'm a liberal Independent: He has a nice blend of liberal and conservative qualities which appeals to me; I believe a moderate is what we need in the white house. Someone that truly has the ability to be an "uniter"........... There is no way he will win the Republican ticket (extreme-righties still have control of the GOP). If he runs as an Independent or on Libertarian ticket it will mean a shoe-in for the Dem nomination which works for me ;-)

Republican: But i agree that the party has lost it's way just as the democrats have lost thier way. It is the pressure from corporate interests that are changing our political landscape and americans are figuring it out. When we expect politicians to be representing us they are more concerned with thier corporate masters. thats why i'll vote for Ron Paul.

I like Ron Paul for the same reason I like O'bama, Richardson, and Huckabee - I have yet to feel as if I am being pandered or lied to . . .

He is NOT conservative. He is Libertarian.
Check his voting record.
He is quite likable, but I don't want him to be President.
It isn't (or shouldn't be ) a popularity contest.
A President has a job to do and he better understand and follow the Constitution.
(Our current President doesn't and should be impeached!)
