I say there is nothing wrong with taking a break. This can give you time to focus on yourself and to know how life is without your boyfriend.

At times, I take a step back and realize how far I have come in life and where I am at. I don't think my husband realizes how much effort and time I put into our relationship and it bugs me. So at times, I like to take a break from him and have a week or so with my family and friends. I don't go looking out for other guys but just worry about me. This also allows me to recharge my batteries and clear my mind. I focus and see things more clearly. Then I am back at it. There is nothing wrong with taking a break to find yourself. Life can get complicated...take things one day at a time. ;) Best wishes!

yes breaks can make a relatonship better...just tell ur bf that u need time to find urself so that u can be a better person for urself and him. every relationship works differently and sometimes breaks are needed every now in than. Reassure him that there is noone else and all u need is time to think about life. he might be needing this too but finding it hard to tell u. both of u can go on a break and figure what u want and come back more commited to each other(plus someguys think its great that girls want independent). good luck

My boyfriend and I took a break after 2 yrs and it was the best thing that happened. I came to realization what I wanted out of the relationship again and how much I couldnt do without him. The both of us didnt go out with anyone else or try to, but just took a break.
Goo luck :)

Recently my bf and I broke up, but then reconsidered it and we got back together. After everything was sorted out, we discovered more. More doors were open to each other, our relationship got much better than before, and is still growing. But before you make this desicion, think about what if he doesn't come back for you if you want him to. Or he doesn't even want to be friends, please be careful. I can't tell you exactly what to do, but if you feel this strong about it go ahead. You are worth more than a relationship.

Usually after the break one of the partners has moved on.

So that means the break was a good thing....otherwise you'd be in a relationship that didn't really work.

NO dont do it because a break might cause him to find another girl and then when you want him again he might not want you!!! i met my husband when he was on a "break" and look what happend the other girl was kiked to the curb, if you love him give him a teeny bit of space but be keep a good eye on him, he could find somebody better than you!!

You don't need anyone else to get out of a relationship - in fact, that is usually how you enrage your ex. Making him think everything up to that point was a complete lie. Just move on.

No because if you just take a break and return the same problems and patterns will eventually arise. You are better off toughing it out with therapy.

Well, my gf and I decided to take a break. It lasted 25 years. When we got back together, it was unbelievable.
