I was a Trainer for a Day at Discovery Cove in Orlando, FL and the only word to describe it is amazing! Dolphins are highly intelligent creatures and they are a ton of fun. I was interested in the marine biology aspect of the program as well and I got to learn about their anatomy, physiology, psychology, nutrtion and training. I got to feed them, pet them, corral them, swim with them and help train them. The best part was the private dolphin experience. There were 3 dolphins just for me to play with! I was in the water with one of the staff trainers and it was a day I will never forget. Those gorgeous, graceful creatures each have their own personailty and certain quirks, just like people. Plus, being pulled through the water by two 800+ pound marine mammals is quite the adrenaline rush!!! If you are a marine mammal fan, like dolphins or animals in general or just think it might be fun then I say go for it. I learned a TON of stuff an dmade memories that will last a lifetime.
