I thought Jesus taught that we should help the least among us. Also, why do Republicans claim to be pro life, yet they tend to be staunch supporters of the death penalty. The whole Republican platform seems to clash with Christian philosophy. What a buncha hypocritical flip floppers.

If you can point out 1 (one, singular) verse when Jesus gave money to the poor then I will support welfare.

There are several instances when he healed the poor allowing them to go out and improve their lives but he never gave a hand out.

He never promoted crime (ILLEGAL immigrants). In fact he encouraged the people to obey and respect the government. "Give to Ceasar what is Ceasar's"

Try reading Proverbs. The lazy deserve to starve to death. Even Jesus said "Look to the ant you sluggard. Even the ant stores up grain in the summer so he can eat in the winter." The only forms of welfare not contrary to biblical teachings are employment training programs and those that aid people INCAPABLE of working (quadraplegics, the comatose, and children)

Not a single biblical writer had a problem with the death penalty. Jesus died on a cross and never said anything was wrong with it. Now if Jesus took part in capital punishment who am I to say it's wrong.

Apparently you are getting the Republican and the democratic parties mixed up.

The GOP puts more money back in the hands of people and not takes away like the democrats do. Due to higher taxes both parents have to work and leave poor Johnny to his own devices.

The government is not the answer for the poor and never has been and never will.

As Yeshua/Jesus said the poor we will always have with us and so it is.

It’s up to the people personally one on one to help those who have needs.

Franklin Graham the son of the evangelist Billy Graham has Samaritan Purse. http://www.samaritanspurse.org/ There is many fine people in this world that reach out daily like Loaves and fishes to see that people have a good meal.
http://www.loavesandfishesmn.org/ If we took all the waste away and duplicate services the government does as well, and put the welfare of the nation in the hands of the people that truly know how to help instead of high paid bureaucrats then maybe you see that the enemy is not the GOP but the liberals that are bent to try to control your life and liberty.

So the question is what are “You” doing to help the poor or are you just one of “Those” who go around saying the sky is falling the sky is falling just to hear your self and think you are doing good? As for me we serve meals every Thursday and Tuesday to those who need a hot meal. We try to get others in the community to help but the democrats are too selfish to help.

Oh by the way I am a high official in the GOP.

- You are assumming all Republicans are Christians?

- Jesus taught that we need to be responsible for our own acts. That although we should help those in need, they must also help themselves. I don't believe the Republicans don't want to help people, but rather want to help people help themselves. There cannot be free handouts without accountability. To make such a broad statement as you have is unresponsible unless you give examples. It is unfortunate that politicians create bills that have all sorts of unrelated stuff thrown in them, which only will lead to a smaller likelihood of getting passed.

- As to being pro life but supporting the death penalty...there's no comparison. Killing the innocent/those who have no voice (what many republicans see abortion as) versus killing those who have made a choice to inflict harm/death upon others/taken away the choice of others is no comparison. I think we all understand there must be a law, and a penalty associated with the law. Jesus taught the same thing. He also respected the law of the land in which he lived, which included the death penalty. Justice must be served, as well as mercy.

- I am personally not real fond of the death penalty, but I don't see a conflict with Christianity or a contridiction to their view on abortion.

-As to calling someone a flip-flopper, how does that even apply? I could see calling them hypocrites, which is what I think you are saying, but as I stated above, these aren't quality comparisons and I therefore don't believe they're hypocrites. Christ certainly didn't provide free money to all those who were poor, handicapped, possessed (whatever), but he provide them with a message and a path to improve their life and achieve happiness, which isn't worldy.

I guess I'll stop there. Just my opinion.

You assume giving money to poor means helping them. It is really just taking from the rich. We've tried in for about 60 years. Spent enough money to buy pretty much every building in the country and I believe the problem is worse--so I guess without all that help everyone would be poor by now.

Maybe it's because we keep re-defining poor. Like people who are on Medicaid but pay $10k out of pocket for full body liposuction. Or maybe someone on food stamps driving a new car. People on welfare with cell-phones (they aren't a requirement for life though you may believe they are).

Maybe we are just tired of give-aways which just result in a populace more and more dependant on the elite for their daily survival. Eventually this system will collapse, I believe it is only 20 years away so accelerate it if you want.

Please teach me a million place the place Jesus asked the Romans to take care of the unfavourable, unwell, widows, or orphans! He admonished the persons to absorb the reason, as a results of fact he found out the bigger the government the smaller the citizen. With a individual at as quickly as in contact there is duty on the two factors of the charity which isn't there while the funds incorporate the help of the government. the government extorts sources to purchase votes for themselves via perusing "Social Justice" which in actuality retains those persons unfavourable & based on bureaucrats. those bureaucrats inspire persons to look at themselves as victims. those that isn't be in a position to do something without massive government. the only team massive government particularly enables is themselves - they receive massive pay tests, massive reward without becoming wealth for the worldwide. Are you a bureaucrat keeping a comfortable job that creates no wealth for the worldwide, nor even will improve the conceit of the guy?

You should know Conservative Christians give more of their own time and money to help the poor than do liberals. They just think it isn't the government's job.

When you take someone's life you lose your right to life and that is Biblical.

Matthew 10:34
"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

Matthew 5:19
"Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven." That does includ homosexuality being a sin.

No where in the Bible where you will find where it says to let evil kill your family and friends and do nothing.

Very few bills "help the poor." Bills to "help the poor" are really just a money grab to give to programs which supposedly "help the poor." These programs, like most government programs, are designed to do one thing - GROW. Whether they help the poor or not doesn't matter. As long as politicians can say they voted for this or that "poor" bill, that's all that matters - then they can say "See, I care about the poor!"

It's called hypocrisy!
I think it's really ironic that the right wingers have captured the evangelical voters and yet support big business interests against the union members. Evangelicals preach against money lenders yet on the other hand vote for people like George W. Bush.
Here in Virginia there are payday lenders who can charge up to 300 per cent on loans. These so called banks are allowed to operate in the red state of Virginia at will. Virginia was the home of the late Jerry Falwell who did nothing against the money lenders but supported George W. Bush and Senator McCain of Arizona.
The only place in the Bible that I've read where Jesus actually showed any sign of anger is when he drove the money lenders from the temple.
Thanks

I guess that they believe in pro-life in the context of you should have the right to live your life, as long as you don't think you have the right to take another life, without consequences.
I guess they vote against legislation that gives money to the poor, as opposed to voting for legislation that demands that the poor also do their part to earn what ever is given to them. Sort of teach a man to fish philosophy, as opposed to just give people money, because they keep making babies.
As far as illegal immigration goes? I don't know what the hell them bozo's from either side are thinking.

First of all your premise is false. Republicans also support faith based organizations which use government money to assist the poor in ways which improve their lives. Government programs often simply provide handouts which have no long term benefit.
