Get her either an 8Gb iPod Nano or the 30 Gb iPod Video - they cost exactly the same. Have it engraved with her name or nickname - Apple will do that for free. Give her a $25 gift certificate to iTunes. She will be all set.

The cost difference between the 8Gb iPod Nano and the 4Gb iPod Nano is only $50, thats why I suggest going for the 8Gb (or the 30Gb iPod Video at the same price).

Does she watch music videos at all, like MTV or anything like that? If so, then the iPod Video will be perfect for her. If not, then the iPod Nano would be better.

The 2gb nano would be the best for a 10 year old. It holds 500 songs,easy to work and is only about $150.It would be much easier for her than a shuffle because the nano has a screen and plays the songs in order where the shuffle just plays random songs she has downloaded.A iTunes giftcard would be a great accesory with her nano.Shecan also import cd songs to her nano.

An Ipod shuffle would be perfect for a 10 year old. The 1 GB will hold about 240 songs. All this for about $79

I recommend a Zen V Plus by creative its a very great Mp3 and my 11 year old daughter loves it . Its only $ 80.00 were I got it and in my opinion is better than a Nano. Anyway she won't lose it quickly, it costs the same as a shuffle, and it holds 1000 songs. ( the 2GB one at least.)

I agree with AnswersRegular. A two gig nano should work. They hold about 500 songs, and cost about $150.

Nanos aren't too badly priced, and pretty practical. ^^;

I had one for about a year before I switched out to a 600 dollar model. -.-;

Nanos are running around 100-150 dollars.

Resonably priced, they look nice, and they hold a good amount of music.

There's no video or anything in that model, alas. Just a heads up.

Get her a nano its the right size.Probably a 2 GB.
You could buy her a shuffle as well but since their so small now she can lose it rather quickly.

I think the best for her is a iPod Nano.. They might be a little expensive but not much. I'm sure she will enjoy it.
