I just purchased a wireless router and was wondering if I have to contact my phone company to get a separate phone line for just the computer or can I use my existing phone line (same one as my home phone)?

you do have high speed right? ie dsl, or cable if you do then no you don't need a separate phone line, but if you are using Dial-up then you need to get high speed.

The wireless router pluges into the Modem's WAN port. The router does not use a phone line.

If you have DSL you will need a phone line to the modem as the DSL signal rides into your home on the phone line. All other phone lines need a filter that blocks the DSL signal from voice which also resides on the phone line.

The only line the wireless router needs is the line coming from your DSL/Cable modem itself. DSL does not need an additional phone line - just make sure that filters are installed on each line (they'll come in the box with your DSL modem/start-up kit from your ISP). If it's cable-provider based internet, the phones aren't involved at all.

Yes you can use the same system as your phone. I don't recommend using the same outlet for both. The two systems work off of very different frequencies that theoretically should never interact. Although, most DSL companies use different filters for your phone line and your DSL line. You may want to check on those. Cheers

just plugging in the phone line to the router is not going to get you anywhere
you need to have some sort of modem (cable, dsl, dial-up)
if you are using one of the first two option then No
if you are using dial-up do really want too?!
the router will give access on multiple computers

Wireless with Dial-up? Yikes. If it is DSL, you should probably contact the phone company. However, if it is dial up, I sugesst going cable internet and you won't have to worry.
