I'm assuming that you're referring to whoever takes over in January of 2009, in which case my answer would be: anyone who sees a need to "stay the course", be it in terms of the war in Iraq, environmental issues, stem cell research, etc. If ever a drastic change of direction on every front was direly needed, it's now. Unfortunately, I'm not very optimistic that the next president is going to rise to the occasion.

Since we're wasting time listing past presidents (all you Bush haters are wasting time)- I say Jimmy Carter. He created a useless Dept of Education and a mostly useless Dept of Energy, horrible inflation (double digits??), raised social security taxes, failed to free the Iran hostages, gasoline crisis, and interest rates were close to 20% on home mortgages if I remember correctly. All in all, he was a bad president I would not want to see again.

I assume you mean of the current announced presidential candidates:

Dennis Kucinich is always spouting off crackpot ideas instead of real political plans etc. At least the other candidates are within the realm of reason with their platforms.

Ralph Nader and Michael Moore make good consumer advocates/crockumentaries but are not good presidential material.

Fred Thompson, he's the closest thing I've seen to a human skeleton. Who would want to look at that ugly m.f. for the next four years?

hillery or any of her liberal socialist comrades. She hates the military, wants to tax us into bankruptcy, would divide the country against itself, would let terrorists kill us with ease, would (try) to take our means of self-defense away, and she is the Anti-Christ we have been warned about. The rest of her inbred pals are no less worse than she is, just not as virulent or toxic.
