You can't restore what was never there. Maybe for a split second the birth of the very first human being, might have been "innocent". But 2 things...
1. Innocence is a human concept not a reality.
2. Nature is not innocent, and since we are natural creatures, there was never and will never be innocence.
**EDIT**
To <3Pirate below...Knowledge isn't the problem. If we were truely knowledgeable there would be no wars. It's ignorance and selfishness that are causing the worlds conflicts today. People don't know enough about each other's cultures and traditions and that ignorance is yielding a lack of respect. Because people are selfish and want everything to be "their way" combined with that ignorance, today's conflicts exist. Knowledge is the key to terminating those conflicts. Knowledge is not the problem. Ignorant Knowledge, False Knowledge, or Partial Knowledge maybe...but those are synonyms for Ignorance. Thanks.

i dont think there is. especially with so much competition in the world. I say that because the only way to restore Mankind's innocence is to take away knowledge. (im not adam and eve-ing at you but its true...knowledge IS the problem. with knowledge we have started wars, created weapons that are dangerous to the existence of the world and such). So anyways like i was saying, due to so much competition, people need to be thoroughly educated and with education there are always risks about how a person is going to actually USE that knowlege. Therefore there is always going to be crime and such because man is not ignorant anymore. i hope you understand what im saying. im not having a very "articulate" day.

Until we can figure out the workings of the human brain, a person cannot be restored like a computer can

The old line "You can't go home again" didn't mean that you literally couldn't go back and visit your childhood home. It meant you can't go back to childhood. The knowledge and experience you've gained in the meantime won't permit it.
The same holds true for all human beings in aggregate. "Mankind" can never go back to the stone age or to hunter-gatherer groups. We individuals can go camping for awhile, then return to civilization.
Were humans ever innocent, as in "not knowing"? Perhaps our very distant ancestors long before the evolution of human characteristics.
But either way, we truly can't go home again. We can't go back; we must go through.

There is no way to restore manking to innocence, you would have to go to the " Adam and Eve" book. There is no other way. That is why we are where we are.

What is the difference between 'innocence' and 'ignorance'? There is only one. An innocent person has had no opportunity to know better, while an ignorant person had the opportunity but passed it up.
So although it is possible to cause a large-scale change to IGNORANCE, it is not possible to cause a large-scale change to INNOCENCE.
Personally, I'm not sure why you would want either.

Mankind can never be 'restored' to innocence cause it never was. Innocence is only one of the few attributs we have.
Just like greed

If we are innocent, we are vulnerable. Returning to our authentic nature requires self-knowledge and higher reasoning. It is a transcendent state we should seek - not a childish state of innocence.
