Algebra Equation?

Question

Can someone please help show me how to solve this equation. I only have a few minutes to get the answer.
3/8x -1/6= -5/8x-2/3

1. Multiply both sides by 24 so we aren't working in fractions.

9x - 4 = -15x -16

Add 4 to both sides

9x = -15x -12

Add 15x to both sides

24x = -12

divide both sides by 24

x = -1/2

Add 5/8x to each side:

3/8x - 1/6 + 5/8x = -5/8x - 2/3 + 5/8x
8/8x - 1/6 = -2/3

Add 1/6 to each side and realize 8/8=1:

x - 1/6 + 1/6 = -2/3 + 1/6
x = -4/6 + 1/6
x = -3/6
x = -1/2

combine the like terms 3/8x + 5/8x = 1/6 - 2/3
(3+5)/8x = (1-4)/6

uh im not an expert on this but i am pretty good at algebra, so ill do my best to help you. 3/8x-1/6=5/8x-2/3 ok so i think you have a fraction you turn into multiplication.

Multiply by 24x:
9 - 4x = -15 - 16x
Add 16x - 9 to each side:
12x = -24
Divide by 12:
x = -2.

I assume you mean
(3/8)x-1/6=-(5/8)x-2/3 add (5/8)x to each side
(8/8)x-1/6=-2/3 add 1/6 to each side
x=1/6-2/3 get LCD on RHS
x=1/6-4/6=-3/6=-1/2
x=-1/2

k um so do least common denominators for all the fractions then simplify out
3/8x=9/24x
1/6x=4/24x
5/8x= 15/24x
2/3x=16/24x

so just subtract out on both sides and simplify and crap.
