I started my first depo shot Mon. The doctor didn't tell me anything about it just said I couldn't have the pill so that was my other option. I took it. Now I've researched it and its bad effects. I've had a lot of stomach pains since Mon. Is there a reverse shot to the Depo Shot? Or a way to get the shot out of your system faster then three months?

I couldn't have the pill because at the time my blood pressure was elevated and due to having ibs.

It just has to run it's course. If you look there are lots of people saying bad things about it, but it affects everyone differently. Something that tortures some people could be a Godsend to others.

First of all if you weren't comfortable with having somethign you knew nothing about you shouldn't have accepted the shot until you were comfortable. The reason I say this is because, doctors can suggest something to you, they CANNOT make you do it. YOu have to consent to shots and other procedures. You cann't rid your system of the medication or the side effects for that matter. I took the shot and like many other women I had a horrible experience and mine didn't go away for the entire 3 months, even after 3 months I was still feeling "weird". I would just suggest doing some more research about other options for birth control. You can read about them online.

No you will have to wait for it to wear off. You need another doctor- should not be given things that you know nothing about. Why were you told you cannot have combination pills? Are you on an anti seizure medicine? Did the doctor talk about the mini pill or perhaps an IUD? I am not sure the stomach pains are related to the shot but I guess anything is possible.

You can't reverse it, only wait for the shot to get out of your system.

glad to hear you are getting off depo, I was on it for four years and so glad I got off the shot.

Nope you just have to put up with it for 3 months...always ask your doctor about possible side effects and all the info before, some dr's just go ahead without telling a person the side effects.

Nope, but on the bright side most of the side effects go away within the first 2 weeks (usually).
