I used to work with a woman who was very into all things Disney. She went to Disney world for her honeymoon, passed out Mickey Mouse shaped chocolates at her wedding, and regularly wore clothing that featured Disney characters to work (ex. a navy blue cardigan with Tinker Bell and a trail of stars embroidered on it). I've since know a few other women like this and just wondered about them. Maybe I've lost some sort of childhood majical what not and they've managed to maintain it.

Yes...They're going overboard with their hobby...
Everyone should have an interesting or entertaining hobby that occupies their spare time...
Mine is playing rock guitar, whether it be a "live" band situation, or not...
But I don't walk around wearing a guitar slung over my shoulder all the time, or wear nothing but rock band t-shirts and other media memorabilia ad-nauseum, flaunting my fun hobby with a stupid grin on my face for all to see...
That would be "kinda nutty..."

No. If that is what they enjoy. I fell into Orlando quite by accident.I came to visit and loved the atmosphere so much I stayed a year so far. I was so depressed and went thru some changes but Orlando and Disney has a culture all their own. It is upbeat and positive. Very artistic and every where I would go in my neighborhood I would find colorful and artistic displays of creativity. There are persons from all over the world spending bocoup bucks to be here a few days with the kids. So I live here, and feel not as depressed every where I go there is something new and improved and I love it . Try living in Orlando 2 miles from downtown disney, you will find that there are persons all over the world that love the ambiance of Disney. It is not all for kids. Try the House of Blues and The Hard Rock Cafe. There is alot here for single americans men and woman. I love it here and I think I will buy a Disney T shirt just because I need to show someone how happy I am in the Disney underground. When I turn on my news on the local station I see Mickey Mouse everywhere. I am not addicted but it beats looking at subways, gray buildings, train tracks and unhappy persons. Go figure.

I have been there for my first time last year and I was only 19. Good sneakers are good for the parks but if your family plans to go to a water park you will want to bring your flip flops. So I say bring both because it doesn't hurt to be prepared. Although tank tops are really cool in the sun I would not wear them because of sun burn. Even though you might be wearing sun block its best to wear t-shirts and it also helps for when you go inside a building because it can get pretty cold in some. Shorts and pants are good to bring. Shorts are because of how cool they will be and pants because some parks you don't want shorts. For example if you and your family are headed into animal kingdom its better to wear pants because some rides are pretty dirty, and I mean like dirt, mud, ETC. Bathing suits. P.J. pants only because it might get pretty cold in the place you might be staying. They like ac in their rooms to be very cold in some places. If you are worried about being too cold inside a building I wouldn't worry too much about it because your never inside too much. Some rides, where you may be staying and mostly food places are where the cold ac will be but that is a good thing. Just bring a long sleeve shirt or a long sleeve zip up and you will be fine.

It's all about memories and consumption related to entertainment. Some of the best memories I have are from when I was in Disney World with my family. If a mom wears Disney clothes to work, maybe she's really saying that she loves her family. In the end, it's all about entertainment. From Disney, to sports, to moves, to comic books, we are all consumers of some kind or another. Her Disney clothes may be an expression of herself, her family, and her memories.

I have relatives like that and I admire their passion for something so family oriented. Some women collect Barbies and I don't see a difference. I would be worried if it was an obsession, but what I have seen in the past is like a hobby.
I have to admit that I like Tigger. I think it is from a time of innocence and magic. I admire anyone who has a passion for these kinds of collectibles. It gives their house a friendly personality.

Oh. My. God. My mother went to Disney a few years back and I spent an entire pre-Christmas season wondering what in the world I would say to her if she gave me a 7 Dwarfs denim shirt. She apparently saw this "adorable" shirt and couldn't resist buying it. Some other lucky recipient got it and I was off the hook.

I think they are okay in moderation. Don't make it an everyday thing - it gets to be a bit much. Maybe this would be a good one for "Not What To Wear". They would have a field day with this one. They would toss out everything.

I wouldn't call it "something wrong with them". It's just a little odd. Maybe they are trying to be a little happier, or maybe they didn't get a chance to develop an adult sence of fashion. Maybe they are trying very hard to not grow up.

Why would you think there is a problem? I mean do you think they didn't develop fully mentally or something? That Disney is supposed to be a phase everyone grows out of? Why do you think there could be a problem?
