Does anyone know the name of a recent horror film that came out in theatres late last year/early this year...I remember the trailer on TV reminded me of a "Saw" or "Hostel"-type of movie that took place somewhere in the tropics where a group of people on vacation are the victims. Also, is it on DVD yet?

Most of the imdb top 50 horror films are quite subtle; I believe films like The Innocents, Ugetsu, Spoorloos, Eyes Without a Face, The Haunting etc. are on there. I highly suggest going through that list before calling yourself a horror buff. Have you watched the classics like the original versions of Last House on the Left (1973, but lots of gore), The Hills Have Eyes (1977)? If you liked Rosemary's Baby, try Polanski's The Tenant (1975?) or Repulsion (1965, haven't seen it, but have heard good things). One of my favorites is The Changeling (1980). A really good recent horror film was Session 9. Saw was surprisingly good as well, if not a slight bit of a Cube (1997, you'd like it) rip-off. I'm sure you've seen Paranormal Activity, but if you haven't, it's actually good.

It's called Paradise Lost- although has nothing to do with the 1667 classic poem by Milton (unfortunately)
