Here are just several news stories and videos showing the horrific events that have straddled our country this week. Where is the public outcry from Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and the black community?

droopydog - Have you no conscience? Have you actually watched the horrific video and read the news story? Or, are you just another liberal who scoffs at anything that doesn't benefit you?

Sharpton, Jackson, and the rest of the community won't say anything, because they weren't white. The man who was killed was probably white, and more than likely they felt it was justified.

I refuse to even call them reverends, as they don't deserve the title. They aren't doing God's work.

I know the Junteenth celebrations are a part of US history, but talk of slavery and "how the white man's got you down" sure does promote a lot of violence.

I'll speak for myself and say they are probably the greatest threat to my quality of life. I work in the city and live in a nice neighborhood sandwiched between a bunch of black neighborhoods which have essentially become mini Lagos Nigerias. People are murdered daily. Children are caught in cross-fires at the playground. Mothers leave their infant children home alone while drinking at the bar (house burned down with 5 children still in it). A 2 year old found wandering around a busy street with no parent. Another shooting at a playground. All this week! Come on? Every day the young black mothers are M.F. ing their kids on the bus. I walked past a group of 6 yr olds yesterday and the little boy called a little girl playing in the group a "*****". GIVE ME A BREAK! This is behavior that happens in other cultures - but not at this rate. We have probably 90 murders a year in our city. I'd say 80% commited by blacks on blacks. Like I said in the other post - I'm a pretty damn liberal person. So far the only way to deal is to try and ignore it. Only problem is when you get stuck driving through mobs of people coming from "Junetheenth or any of these other Black celebration festivals. I was in Toronto a few years ago during "Carabana", another black festival when a bunch of people where shot and someone was stabbed outside of our hotel room. Toronto has low crime - unless blacks congregate for festivals. Thank god my city has neither of these stupid events. We have Columbus Day parades, St. Patrick's day parades etc. and no one ever gets murdered and it never turns into a full out riot!

I am deeply saddened with the horrible and tragic outcome of this so-called "celebration," yet I do not feel African-American's should be judged as a threat. I live a few miles north of Milwaukee and after seeing the horrific video I cannot help myself to feel angry and upset by the lack of self control from these people. But, I do feel no one should become predjudice towards the black society. The event was held in the inner city, where the black population is greater, therefore the number of blacks were higher than whites. So, resulting in the assumption that the blacks are to be blamed. You cannot make this accusation...

It's not inherent in the race. Economics have a lot more to do with it than race, but unfortunately when you get poor blacks together violence frequently results. Poor, uneducated blacks account for the *vast majority* of the violent crime in my city. But like I said, this isn't necessarily a black thing, it's a *poor* black thing.

Holding any kind of "celebration" that's emotionally charged to begin with, is NOT a good idea.
