At the moment I'd say Ireland. I'm from Ireland so its slightly biased. But I am considering living in Canada for a year because it appears much closer to Irish and European culture than the US.
Also, for the answerer Canada, because its modern and in the 21st Century. Oi! Ireland is a richer country per capita, has a better quality of life than Canada according to the UN Human Development Index, Ireland is ranked 4th Canada is ranked 6th.

Of the two you listed, Canada, but I would like to visit Ireland. My mother's ancestors were Irish. But I would rather live right where I live, good old United States, Southern United States, North Carolina to be exact.

My background is Irish as is evident by my love for eating potatoes, but I live in Canada. Everyone I've talked to say they have always wanted to visit Ireland because we've heard the landscape is a colour of green unparallelled anywhere else on Earth.
But I love Canada! It's so huge and modern and 21st century, especially where I live. TORONTO!
(Hey, Babeeeeeeeeeee! How's it goin'?)

Ireland all the way, although I don't know why...I've never been there, but I have been to Canada...maybe it's because I'm my ancestors were Irish, and I'd like to see where I came from. But, yeah, totally Ireland.
