Wow, I did not know opinions of Program Directors were so low.

I have been a Program Director at a number of individual stations over the years. I am now a regional Program Director of a cluster of 7 stations. I can say with great pride, I have never taken a bribe to promote anything, on any of the stations I worked for. That is not to say things were never offered to me. I know there are some PD's out there that will line their pockets with all kind of record company swag, but I let the music speak for it's self. I am not going to cram some crap music into my listeners ears, just because some promoter wanted to give me some free stuff.
For the most part, most PD's are on the up, and up. And if they are not....... It's only a matter of time before somebody slips up, and they get busted..... Then they get what they deserve. I, for one, am not ready to toss everything I have worked for down the crapper for some free items from a record company.

Based on some of the criminally insane talk show hosts they support and promote...I'd say somebody is paying them off ....it's makes since to me...I own a company that profits from right wing propaganda, and I pay radio station program directors a high price to get it...the media in general seems to be more influenced by money than facts every day

Depends on if their male or female and weather or not their sleeping with the owners of the station.
In other words the corruption runs deeper than just the program director. They are not the highest person on the totem pole.
