It's safer, it stops more pop ups, I think it even stops some viruses from coming through.
It's faster also if you set it up right.

Firefox is part of the Mozilla project, is open-sourced
and more secure. You can get it at:

It runs on almost every modern operating system
(unlike IE which only runs on Windows). Since it
is open source and lots of people have been looking
at the code since its inception, it is more secure.
That is, the security problems with it are flushed out
early, unlike IE which is proprietary and only gets
Q/A'd by Microsoft.
Ultimately Mozilla code is based off of Netscape
code which goes back to Mosaic, one of the first
browsers on the Internet. I'm sure there have been
a couple of complete re-writes in that process, but
it was done by the same people.
Mozilla/Firefox is far more likely to be compliant
with the W3 standards and act as documented than
IE - again because it endures rigorous peer review.
Oh yeah - and its free.

Firefox uses fewer system resources and has tabbed browsing. However, it isn't really anymore secure than Internet Explorer and you will still require IE to get Microsoft security patches.
After you install Firefox, you will still need to download other add-ons to get its full functionality. This would include the IE add-on for rich text formatting amongst other things.

It is a jusgement call. Firefox does not have all the features that IE has, but you may not need them. Firefox is faster, leaner, takes less time to load, is not vulnerable to all the viruses that IE is.

people say thaat because its faster and it kinda is but its not all that great whenever you need to play games on miniclip or some other game website....itll always ask for a attachment to play and then when you instal it it doesnt work......get internet explorer 7 and then get fire fox use both ,best thing you can do! ...i do that all the time.......

Firefox is more secure they say.
Internet explorer just like windows in general has been around for so long that people hack into it easier.

Firefox is lighter, has a built in download manager, popup blocker and anti spam, uses turbo connection speed and doesnt hang or crash as much as IE...
