actually, as a person who just completed the first year of high school, i don't think it was such a big deal at all! the transition to middle school was a lot more different. in high school, you join clubs and have to do community service, and make lots of new friends. you don't really get that many projects, and the teachers are a bit more strict (and some are still idiots), and tests and finals are worth a greater percentage of your grade. also, you should dress well and have lots of accessories and stuff. if you haven't already, you can start wearing a little makeup. it seems like everyone looks the same, but people will respect you if you're different. the characters in high school are what make it fun. :D and yeah, i actually did gain alot more freedom because i can stay after school doing whatever until i leave, and i can hang out more with my friends and do more activities, but you also do get more work. my advice would be to not procrastinate or you'll end up doing homework until 12:30 like me. also, if you're concerned about college, try to get a 4.0 grade point average and start a club or something. also, you become more responsible and more mature. so, that about summarizes it, and you can email me at sparkling_showers@yahoo.com if you have any more questions. good luck!

In general, people are more upfront and honest and less behind your back when it comes to talking sh*t about you. They also become more cliquey because the girls that have known eachother for 10 years will all want to hang out together and not let a new friend into their circle as easily. People become more aware of their differences and will also get smarter about dealing with peer pressure. Some people will learn about who they are and what they like and be more true to themselves, while others will just want to fit in and do whatever is "cool" or "generally accepted."
You will have more freedom because not all high schools require that you eat lunch on campus, so you may go around the block to buy lunch with your friends. Also, there are many more after school activities, like sports, clubs, and theatre so that means more time with your friends and less time at home. Generally, parents like it when their kid is involved in a lot of extracurricular activities, and it will give you a chance to meet other people your age who like the same stuff that you do.

Well for starters the difference from middle to high school is that there is a lot more freedom, that's when girls want to be cool so they don't care if they suck or f*ck every d*ck that comes their way because the guy says they like them.
Also, the teachers are a little more strict, more kids try to ditch school to drink, smoke, have sex, a lot of more fights depending on the school you go to. many enemies little friends in some cases don't get on nobody bad side a: they fight you b: they talk sh*t to everyone about you. lunch same thing unless you go to a nice school where they got different types of food/restaurant type deal. gym yeah right you don't really have to participate nobody really does but the guys. well that's all i could think of hope that helps
one more word of advice be easy and don't listen to what everyone wants you to do!
OH YEAH be safe wrap it up!!!

You do have more freedom. You also change friends and basically have different lives. I had a great group of friends and played soccer and track in middle school. After my freshman year, I hanged out with a whole new group of people and I do cheerleading. Have fun though, because literally, high school goes by pretty fast.

In high school it's a lot bigger and the teachers don't really care if you do the work or not. Like at my school, in the middle school the teachers would get all mad and you would have to make up the homework after school. In high school, they just give you a 0. Also, at my high school there's no homeroom or study hall, unlike middle school.

Middle School has less students which means it is less crowded and in middle school the kids are younger so then they need more teachers to watch them. And with freedom when you get older then there are more privileges and that's why there is more freedom.

you do have more freedom but along with that come smore responsibilty...noone will hold your hand through your classes they wont remind you to do your homework..if work is not done then tough you will get the grade to match it..most people in high school start to focus those years on what will make them a good canidate with colleges they want to get in....as far as extra after school activities and classes geared towards what you want to do when you get older...

when your in middle school, especially in 8th grade you feel all cool cuz ur like the oldest. But then you go to being a freshman and your back at the bottom again. On the plus side, there are cute older guys to check out ( ; Highschool's way fun though, enjoy freshman. Freshman year along with senior (well idk cuz i m not a senior yet, but i m sure it will b) are the best!
