I haven't yet, because I get creeped out thinking of what odd things may have taken place in those clothes with the previous owner, or if maybe they are dead now or something. And I've yet to find something I really wanted besides some hair clips.

Hair clips would be the last thing I would by there
However, we have some very nice, "consignment shops" here, that only sell things in excellent condition and in style and I will only buy clothes for my kids to play outside in, as I am sick and tired of spending money on all these nice @ss clothes, and them getting grass stain and everything else. I always wash before they wear. I will also buy things there that are still new with tags. I also take my kids stuff there when they grow out of it, (the nicer things) and get extra money. Better than having a yard sale. Less Work.

I LOVE THE THRIFT STORE. Really, I find really great, really cute, really cheap clothes at Goodwill and Salvation Army all the time. I almost only shop at thrift stores. There's nothing wrong with it, and it helps you sort out your own personal style. Plus, you'll never be wearing the same thing as your friends! Tips: 1. Thrift stores always have awesome purses. I don't think I have a single purse that hasn't come from a thrift store. All under 10 bucks. 2. They also have really cool shoes. My favorite pair of flats are from Goodwill and they cost 5 dollars. 3. Basic outfits (jeans, tees, etc) can be livened up with itens from the thrift store. Normally near the purses, there will be boxes of silk scarves/handkerchiefs. I don't know how many times I've tied one around my neck or in my hair for a really quick, chic touch. And they cost, like, a quarter! 4. Don't be afraid to dig! It may not look like there's a lot of choice at the thrift stores at first, but just a little searching can prove you wrong!

I was a single mother raising children without benefit of child support from an absent, UNEMPLOYED father...... if it wasn't for thrift shops, My kids and I would have NEVER had "new" clothes...... the only thing I would NOT buy at a thrift store other then hair products, was socks and SHOES ----none of the thrift stores sold UNDERWARE and I wouldn't have bought that anyway... but pants, shirts, sweat shirts, shorts, jackets and ski wear were often purchased at thrift stores. You just have to know where to go..... We have a town here that is FULL of extremely highly paid professionals in beautiful EXPENSIVE homes who drop things off at the thrift shops all the time.... you KNOW their clothing was well cared for and USUALLY very well made ....and with a little talent, things can be MADE or altered so they do not look EXACTLY like the object that was dropped off... Thrift shops are a very economical way to dress your family in GOOD quality clothing.... like I said, you just have to be careful where you go and what to look for.

Clothes are clothes. Even then some shops sell new clothes that are mixed in with the used. Only reason why I know this is because I donated A LOT of things to Goodwill and Savers about a month ago. I stopped inside to check it out and found a brand new unopened scanner for $6 with cables and software. I was jazzed obviously. Think of those places as a more organized garage sale and you won't have a negative view of shopping there.

Most of the clothes never were on a person--they were too small, the wrong color, not their style or too big when they were bought or given. Obviously ripped and ruined clothes are not put out for sale. And if the person is dead, and their clothes are donated, so what? They didn't die in that outfit--get real. The emergency personnel would have cut it off of him/her or the mortician disposed of the clothes.
Just for curiosity's sake, how would you feel if a friend refused to even touch your clothes because she/he's wierded out about all the odd things you could have done in them?
Do you really think clothes in a store have never been touched or worn? Guess again.

I have bought things for my son who is 2 yrs old.... Kids these days grow out of their clothes so fast that it's hard to keep up, with my paycheck so small, so I try to make the most out of it... I have found great bargains like brand new jeans for him (brands like GAP, The Children's Place and others) for about 1-3 bucks and if you go to the store they cost about 20-30 per jean, so I keep on going as long as I find good stuff barely used for great prices....

Of course you should always wash them before using any and if you buy hair clips I suggest you wash them or disinfect them before using... and NO on shoes... never buy shoes from a thrift store cause it can give you athletes foot or some disease same as under garments, like underwear or bathing suits, or bras...I wouldn't buy these Items...

Are you really smurfette, because I have had a crush on you since I was 6 years old.
Yes I bought a shirt from a thrift store for Halloween last year and all night I itched. I guess I should have washed it but it didn't even cross my mind that it wouldn't be cleaned before they put it on the rack. Well that was the first and last time, I guess the experience soured me on thrift store shopping even though it was my fault.

I found my favorite pair of jeans at a thrift store, I have never been able to find that brand or type since :(
Sometimes you can find really unique or awesome things, antiques, things worth a ton of money on ebay, and even some clothes with the tags still on them.
You don't always find something every time you go, but you will eventually catch a good find.

I have bought from there before. I bought some clothes and took them home and immediately washed them since the clothes would've gotten dirty if someone wore the clothes in the thrift shop, so there would be no good use having other people's body order or germs on me if I wore it right away.

Must be nice to have the option of whether or not you want to shop at a thrift store. Some of us aren't that lucky. Though I have found some really good deals at thrift stores, it just takes a long time to find what you like cause there's always so much stuff all piled together.
