Some of us really have to get beyond the emotion of this subject. Women have been flushing embryos since man found the routine to help make them.

If the Answerers haven't read why the President continues to veto this project then I won't tell them. President Bush is doing the right thing! Sheeesh!

Go ahead and rant against the Bush Administration for what ever reason you want but get yourself educated as to why The President will continue to veto this type of legislation whenever it comes up.

the reason of Bush's veto is that the approach maximum in lots of cases used to reap embryonic stem cells involves the destruction of a human embryo. as much as now, no President as enable tax payer money to fund any technique that destroys human embryos. because of the fact the fact of whilst life starts continues to be unclear, that's suitable to err on the edge of warning and look after what ought to probable be a human life. further lines of stem cells are obtainable: from umbilical cords, embryonic fluid, and so on. that is not any longer neccessary to interrupt a fetus to get the cells. (basically extra cost-effective) Bush's veto does no longer forestall the harvesting of stem cells from dissimilar sources. It does no longer limit stem cellular study. It does no longer outlaw medical breakthroughs or new discoveries. All those will proceed unrestricted and legal. It basically assure that those human beings who have faith life starts at thought are no longer compelled to have our tax money used to pay the cost of committing what to us is a sin - the destruction of a human life.

Since embryonic stem cells don't work. It's been proven. They mutate to worse problems. He did the right thing.Adult stem cells have been proven to work better. But since he pro death crowd has to be satisfied,he is made to be a idiot. Most informed people know that embryonic cells don't work. Some just believe what they want to believe.I feel bad for the ignorant types. They should do the research on the mutations that have occurred, before spewing demoncrates speaking points.

i think the whole emboyonic stem cell research is a simple matter made complex. Bush should just allow it, because everday unused embryos are being discarded of. all of those wasted embryos could be changing medicine for the better. just imagine if the research actually made a break through that allowed paralyasied people walk again. i mean aren't their lives also worth something?

a dumb move.

the embryonic stems cells in question are left overs from invetro fertilization where they often have to make several embryos in order to achieve success.

The left over embryos are often discarded or permanently frozen with zero chance of ever being used if the woman dose not want to.

So even if a person views an embryo as human life it is a life that will never develop.

As such what possible reason can their be not to get at least some medical knowledge out of them that might one day save other people.

I don't understand how people can refuse to accept stem cell research. The embryos used are leftover from IVF procedures. They would've been a) frozen and NEVER used or b) discarded. Why not do something with them that can help mankind as a whole?

Sixty percent of the people who own and created the unused embryos want them used for stem cell research. They belong to them not the federal government. It should be their decision.

Many countries are using embryonic stem cells to develop cures for human disease that can save actual lives. They will laugh all the way to the bank thanks to Bush's stupidity.

Thanks W for giving voters another reason to elect Democrats in 2008.

There's no need to use tax dollars for embryonic stem cell research. There's plenty of private money already funding the research.

Bush just doesn't want a cure to be found. He thinks dead frozen embryos are more important than curing diseases and improving the quality of human life.

But the plus side to this: Bush isn't President FOREVER.

The bill will get passed. But not when he is President.

The man's an idiot. Embryos created for women who have IV Fertilization done are literally being thrown in the garbage. That's not 'saving' those lives either, why can't those cells be put towards something positive. My friend was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident last week and this really irritates the p*** out of me!!!!
