"The English language is dead.
Long live the English language."
Yes, it's wearying and depressing to anyone who thinks that clear communication is both important, and a courtesy.
And noticing that most people don't even seem to be able to reach for the spell check button doesn't increase one's faith in human nature one iota.
Though that wouldn't help people loose all there problem's.

All I know, as an employer, with several thousand employees, if I see an application or resume with misspelled words, and poor grammar, I will not even consider that person for employment. Their lack of education would reflect poorly on my business, and I could never be sure that they actually knew what they were doing in a given position. If people think that such things do not matter, I think they are in for a huge shock when it comes time to get out and find a job.

Well, I think it's because people don't put as much care into what they write and type. Spelling just isn't that important to people these days. I also think it is laziness because spell checker makes it easier to check your spelling and grammar, but people are lazy and don't bother.

I think part of it is that chat speak has become far too common. Many people abbreviate things that should not be abbreviated. Also people don't bother to spell check or proofread. It's not something they are graded on so they don't bother. It's no longer taught that how you speak and write reflects on your person so people don't bother with it anymore.

When I start to read a question and it has misspellings and such, I just skip it and go to another question.
If the asker hasn't the time to use spell check, then I have no time to TRY to read what they have written.

It's not stupidity, some people have a hard time with grammar and vocabulary and some others have problems with math or physics....
And by the way your question is very insulting to people who struggle with that.
