No way! I broke up with my BF before prom and I didn't go. Now, 15 years later I regret it because I could've gone and hung out with my friends. I would've had an excellent memory and now I'm bummed! So go by yourself and have a blast!

as a matter of fact, no. i went through 2 prom dates in one week so i just gave up on prom as a whole, instead, a good friend of mine took me to very expensive dinner & a movie that night, i don't regret not having gone for one second, i was in great company and had a blast! and no, i wasn't a "loser" in hs, i was in 7 extra curricular activities & quite popular.

I had one because I thought it wouldve been what everyone is doing but it turned out I just went with anyone and that sucked.
So if you have a boyfriend or just a good friend you know you will have fun with then go with him. But if not, just have fun with your friends and dance with all your guy friends. See that way, no one gets jealous either!

That sucks that it is because of the fact of your mom, yet a minimum of it wasn't HIS suggestion. If it is your mothers and dads' regulations then it is great. he will understand. with a bit of luck he gets to drop you off at dwelling house a minimum of!

Do you have other friends going by themselves? If so, you don't really need a date, just go in a group.
