Left side will be using a high end caliper, whilst the right side will be using a lower end one.. Is this safe? Any danger of wheel locking?

Its not something that I want to do. Its something a second hand bike dealership is insisting on doing for my bike.

it would be safer to just run one caliper preferably one from the bike stopping times will change bike will not stop as fast but it will work
the bike will not pull due to braking

No you can't that is extremely dangerous. Because each caliper may apply different pressure to the rotors cause either the tire locking up, poor braking, or worse unexpected handling while braking. Your life is in those brakes so don't play around with them.

NO!

Even if they are free the price is too high.

There is no way to be sure of getting even pressures from the different components, so you may grab on one side, or not at all on the other. In any hard braking situation you could find the brakes dragging you to one side, possibly quite hard to the side.

Match the parts carefully, no matter the additional cost involved. Your life may depend on it..

NO, they will grab and brake at different rates, and you will find your wheel hub bent, your forks twisted, oh, and you sliding down the road on your behind.

You will be the newest member of the "Over the Handlebars " club real soon if you do that. They wont have the same pressure settings there for on will lock up and one wont do anything....DONT DO IT!

I wouldn't attempt it. You want the same hardware on both sides.
