Here is what happened. They have been stealing cars around here. So last night I borrowed a 11/2 in. rope 50 feet long from the neighbor. I tied my car to the telephone pole out front, going around the front axle under the car, out and around the back axle tying several knots at each axle and then tying it securely to the pole. I can't cut my niehbors rope and the knots won't come out.
Please explain to my how to get those knots out.?

Mike! Were you thinking when you did that?! So, your car wasn't stolen by anyone or yourself. I guess it worked!
Is this for real?!
Why would you do that?! I have no idea how you would get the knots out. If it were me, I'd be out there working on it with a knife until it finally cut through. I'm just one that doesn't give up. If you're serious, let me know. If you're not serious, I'm gonna kick your butt!

I think you have a butt kicking coming.

Lovely evening for a walk, Michael.
Buy your neighbor a new rope, leave your car tied up and learn to enjoy hoofing it till the weather turns bad again. Then cut the rope and never, never do anything like that again! Silly man.

Well just remember that getting it wet will shrink the rope and that's what you don't want. It's best if you let it dry out then get an ice pick and soap the rope trying to pry it loose at each knot knurl. Its a long and slow process but

Burn them off? Is the only thing I could think of but that would be very dangerous near the gas tank. Don't try it! lol. Or you could start the car and back up slowly and pray the knots don't hold. Of course, the pole may come down on you.. Uh, have you considered buying another car??

Haven't you got enough friends. Your friend needs to learn that life bites. Cut the rope or better yet just leave the car where it is (so you don't have to borrow more rope from someone else tonight) and take a taxi or ride a bike.
