I grew up in a Musical family... My Grand-Father and Father were both members of the Stamps Quartet... so I can't remember a time when Gospel or Country was not heard around the house.

The first country song I really liked was "The Battle of New Orleans" by Johnny Horton.... Then I started learning songs from the 40s and 50s... when country music started coming out of Hillbilly Music.

I think the title is 'Don't fall in love with a dreamer' and i think its also by Kenny Rogers. I first heard it when I was a teen and even till today I still like it. It expresses so much that is going on in my life.

Wow, I can't rememer. I guess it would have to be Dolly Parton 9 to 5. We used to play the record at my grandparents on the stereo (the large one the size of a sofa) and stuff one of my moms bras and preform it for our family.

Man, I just looked it up and the release date for the movie and album was 1980. I was about 4-5 years old. Boy do I feel old!

another Kenny Rogers song that I still LOVE to this day is Islands in the stream. I can honestly say that was the first one I liked.

It is difficult to decide but it would have to be something by Hank William, Sr. Either Kawliga or I Can't Help It If I'm Still In Love With You.

Sixteen Tons by Tennessee Ernie Ford...lol. Well, you did say "First"...lol

I may have to take that back and say "King of the Road" by Roger Miller. I think I may have learned the fine art of snapping finger to that one...lol

That's a good one! Mine is Islands in the stream. I didn't even know it was country. Some country songs are cool, though I never really liked country music as a whole....
