I just got side swept bangs, got 2 inches off each layer and the length. I get it cut shorter during the summer

Yes. In fact, my hair used to be long but I just got it cut monday. It's just above my shoulders now. It's the kind that flares out.

I get a bob and usually color it blonde and then in winter i go dark and long. I like the change.

i let it grow out until it's curly and gleaming in the Florida sunshine!
then i cut it off in the fall.
it just saves me money, that's all. I figure I should grow it out before it stops growing :-o !!

if you hair is short all ready and you like it the way it is then no!... but if its long and bugs you because of the heat then cut it short... but its all up to you!
