I do it, too. I know nothing I say will change their point of view, and there's usually no point in starting an argument, especially if it's something I don't feel passionately about. Also, when they say it, sometimes it makes sense from their perspective. There are many types of truth, and what they see as truth may not be my truth.

Yes, but the thing is, most people can't HANDLE the truth. I have a friend that is bluntly honest about everything, and a lot of people call him an ***hole for that. I admire that in him, it's my favorite thing about him. People say the want you to tell the truth, but they don't mean that. They are too insecure to hear what someone REALLY thinks of them.

One of my friends was auditioning for our school musical and she asked him (honest friend) how she did, and he said "You were ok" and she got pissed.

I would much rather have a friend tell me I suck, smell bad, am wearing an ugly outfit, whatever then hear some other people talking about me behind my back.

Actually, I think some people hear only what they want to hear.

Peace
