Sometimes I really wonder why there are so many terrible people in this world. You don't have to murder someone or rob a bank to be immoral or wrong. I swear...it seems like people jump at the opportunity to talk smack about someone behind their back, gossip about things that are none of their business, find ways to put others down to make themselves feel better (i.e. racism and other forms of prejudice). In addition, I run into so many stingy, greedy people...people who won't let you borrow a few dollars even if you really need it, people who lie on their tax forms, people who vote for politicians that give tax breaks to them but screw over everyone else. Why can't people just be generous sometimes? Seriously, I've payed for my friends' meals on occasion, footed the admission fees for movies, etc. without asking them to pay me back..and it's bc I care about them....I often could care less if they pay me back. They do the same for me sometimes. Are too many people are too stingy

Believe it or not everyone you run into is a reflection of you.
if they are mean to you, two things: its your karma; and they are
telling you about some aspect of yourself that needs work or
spiritual growth.

But focus on the positive and be grateful for everyone and everything. And stand up for and love yourself first!

Everyone has good points (or a potential for Buddhahood)
and everyone has bad points (or fundamental darkness.)

We can and should do our best not to let our fundamental
darkness control ourselves and hopefully not let it control
others, But every time you point your finger at someone and
say "bad" there are more fingers pointing back at you!

SO work on yourself first: and if their are other problems,
chant or pray about them also.

Everyone can teach you something; and you can teach others
something too!

Don't allow your perceptions, whatever they are, to cloud your judgement, doubt yourself or doubt the universe. As Gandhi
said, why not be the change you wish to see in society?

Peace!

I think your perspective is skewed. You seem to focus on all that is wrong in the world when there is a great deal more that is right with the world. (else we would have ceased to exist long ago)
I find myself looking for methods to exercise generosity of spirit, and when I succeed, I see others doing the same. It's nice to see it spread, but not my purpose in doing it. I find when I think in generous terms, I am happier and tend to focus a lot less on those things negative that pull me down.

People will be people. dont let the negativity get to you. as long your doing the right thing thats all that matters. eventually in the end, we all get what we deserve. that goes for good or bad.
