kind of...if you have a lot of fat there, then you're tightening up the muscles in your abs, but that six pack is hiding behind all of the belly fat. so try running, or some sort of exercise that burns calories AND do sit ups. that way you'll lose the fat at the same time you're gaining muscle. good luck!!

It might alittle.
But situps make your stomach muscle bigger..and it's under the fat.
If you don't do the situps right, it may look like your stomach's getting alittle bigger.

yes it does. i shed 6 pounds doing a week of 500 situps a day. my shirts(size s) were too big!
