Ok, this is not really a question, but a couple of ppl have sent me messages (since my last "post") asking why I am going off to war. After all I am a litttle over 30, have a very good high paying job, a nice apartment, and attend a wonderful church. First, ket me say, I want to serve because God has put it on my heart. I know I can be a great example to the younger guys. Next, is because of you guys. I don't want a terrorist to walk into a mall and gun down women and children. I don't want to think about any of you huddling in your bed not knowing if you will get harmed the next day. Freedom isn't free and someone has to pay that price. I would pay it for each of you.

When I do get out I plan on becoming a Pastor. That is my dream. However, if God has other plans and I never come back thats ok. God is the my Father and I trust His plan.
I just want you to know that I love you.

Awesome!! We can always use a dedicated Soldier like you! While you serve in the military you should talk to your Chaplain, maybe he or she could help you decide which school and stuff is best for you to attend to become a pastor!
Welcome to the military!!! :-)

I commend you, not only for your courageous stand to serve our nation, but moreso for your faith in our mighty God. I served in the military for 10 years, and found the experience to be the greatest in my life. It molded my life, and accentuated skills that I had already possessed. It also provided me with a chance to meet many fine people from around the country, many of whom I still stay in regular contact with. It is always healthy for someone to be engaged in a project that is much greater than themselves because you will be pushed to extremes that will test your talents and skills and abilities, but also your faith in God. It is admirable that you believe that your service will lend a hand in the defense of our country. I shared that same enthusiasm when I first enlisted. Freedom is definitely not free, and with each freedom comes a responsibility to preserve and to protect each one not only for yourself, but for the remainder of the nation. Many people have become complacent in their materialism, and have taken comfort in the "me" generation, but there will be times when we will have to unite as a nation again, just like 9-11. As Cheney has said, "it's isn't a matter of if we will be struck again, but "when"." I do not support this war, but I do support the troops, and I do believe it is inevitable that we will be attacked somewhere in the future. I commend you, as a fellow Brother in Christ, for your wanting to serve God in whatever capacity He chooses for you. I also had a yearning to serve as a missionary when I served. Now I am a humbled foot soldier for Christ. Thank you for your service, for your dedicaton to your country, and to God. You will be richly blessed, and I wish you God speed. Write to us and let us know how you fair. God bless, friend, and know we love you, too.
