The pad's gonna absorb the water in the pool and it's gonna be like a big diapper. Don't wear a pad in the pool.
You basically have 2 choices:
either wear a tampon
or tell your friends you have your period and you can't swim.
I'm sure they'll understand

You can't get in the pool with a pad. It will just absorb all the water and look like a diaper. Because of that it won't absorb your blood and yes it might run down your leg when you come out the pool. That would be more embarassing then telling your friends that you have your period. Every female has to go through it in life and guys know that. Your best bet is to use a tampon or don't go in the pool.

Oh my gosh i remember these days! The best thing to do is for you to try to use a tampon. Ask your mom/older woman to help you out with getting some or telling you how to insert them correctly. Tampons do NOT hurt if you insert them correctly. Most everyone can use tampons.

If you try to get into the pool with a pad on then you are definately going to be embarrased. Have you ever seen a baby get wet in a diaper? How the diaper swells up? Thats whats going to happen but in the area of your pad. The pad is going to fill up with wather then possibly explode. You will be even more embarrassed if you wear the pad in the pool then if you just stand up and say IM ON MY PERIOD! People are definately going to be able to tell.

Try your hardest to get ahold of some tampons and try to use them correctly. If you apply them correctly they will not hurt and you will be safe in the water. You only have to change your tampon about once every 8-12 hours. You could put one in before you go to your friends, change it before bed and then change it in the morning. It is very descreet and you can flush the actual tampon(the part that you pull out of you at the end) down the toilet. It says not to but EVERYONE does! Try to use the tampons. That is pretty much the only way.

Good luck and if you need any more help/advice then you can message me.

A pad won't work. Think about it, the minute you get in the pool it will absorb water and then be completely useless. If you are going swimming you have to use a tampon. Water does not stop a period. Basically no tampon=no pool.

No, you can't swim with a pad. You'll need to use a tampon. I think you'd be smart to sun bathe then get in the pool, if you get in the pool with a pad on, you might be embarassed of the outcome. I don't know why you "can't" use a tampon but once I did when I was younger, I never went back to pads. If you're just scared of using the tampon, just practise inserting it. Then you can go swimming if you can wear one. Good luck!

sorry, the only way you can go into a pool on your period is if you use a tampon :( i know, it sucks.
have you tried the slender/junior tampons? you might be able to use those. if it hurts though, don't push it. you'll just have to stay out of the pool.

(i don't get why no one understands why you "can't" use one! i couldn't when i was younger, they HURT! i couldn't use them until after i lost my virginity, almost passed out trying! so, if you can't either, you could try not wearing anything if you have light flow that day, or maybe just a liner instead of a big sponge-like pad) good luck sweetie!

oh, and do NOT listen to whoever said you only have to change a tampon every 8-12 hrs!! it should be changed every 6 hrs (8 is pushing it) due to toxic shock syndrome

if you wear a pad in a pool, it will be sort of like a diaper, it will just absorb a whole bunch of water and no blood, so you HAVE to use a tampon, just follow the instructions and try moving it around until you don't feel like you have a tampon on, oh btw, i have never worn a tampon im just guessing that this is what you should do

Way back when I had health ed, they told us that being in water stops the flow of your period. Probably has to do with equal pressure. I wouldn't wear a pad in the pool, they absorb too much liquid (been there and done that, not by choice...someone pushed me in. As much as you may want to go in the pool, you will probably be more comfortable not going in without a pad because getting to the bathroom as soon as you get out isn't always an option at parties.

NO stay away from the POOL. if you use a pad it will absorb all the water and itll be noticable and i know you dont want to have the feeling of a wet pad basically its like a diaper if you put a baby in water with a diaper itll get heavy and big thats the same thing that will happen with a pad. and wtaer DOES NOT MAKE BLOOD STOP you will have bleeding in the pool.
eeew if you do get in the pool id hate being a person in there with you on your period
