I think it shows that racism is still alive in this country and is more pervasive than many people would think. It showed that prejudice exists even in people who wouldn't identify themselves as racist, that racism exists in assuming others are racist in their actions and that racism goes far beyond white-on-black.

my opinion is that it tried to shed light on racism in the modern day. First off that racism still exists in this world despite how "progressive" and "enlightened" some people try to be in big cities like Los Angeles.

Also, I thought it was smart in showing that there is some level of racism in all of us and that being racist doesn't necessarily mean you're a terrible person. racism is often associated with the worst kind (KKK, Nazis), basically in its most violent form. And while racism is a form of hate, as humans, we harbor feelings of hate and it's hard to escape racism seeping in as part of our hate.

You look at Matt Dillon's character, who was basically despicable, and yet there were some good things about him. He did his job in saving that woman (who granted he did abuse before) and he is trying his best to care for his suffering father. And the Ryan Phillipe character who was initially very open and someone that most of us would like to associate with, ends up killing someone because of his race.

So you can't necessarily judge someone completely because they may have some thoughts that alighn with racism.

And speaking of the Phillipe character, I thought it showed how powerful racism can be and how the hatred can be infectious and get someone who is supposed to be as upstanding as Phillipe's character.

Finally, I liked how it showed the butterfly effect of racism. One little thing can effect the whole course of people's lives.

Great film in the sense it was thought provoking. You didn't have to like it to appreciate that it made you think.

I absolutely loved that film. At first, I was a little skeptical, because I didn't really see where the movie was headed. But, in the end, I felt that it was true to the nature of our world, and I think it has a great message for everybody.

I really enjoyed the film, hopefully it opened up some eyes. People often think racism is only between black and white...but of course that movie showed others..that it can be between so many other races..

Messages I got from Crash:

Cops are always bad in one way or another, even the black ones.

Hispanics are the only ones persecuted unjustly.

Everybody else is a run of the mill as$hole.

it's an amazing movie! It shows real problems that our community faces but they just try to push this issue asside, but it RLY is a huge issue in our world today! In other words...I LOVED IT!

I thought it was incredibly moving. It was also pretty realistic, at least as far as our stereotypes go. Many people tend to judge by color, rather than character. "Crash" called our attention to that.

Some parts good, some parts bad....a lot of it was fluff and seeking a reaction (ie box office revenue)

I think its fantastic, its my favourite film. I think its great how it shows how people can judge others before they even realise it themselves! I just think its one of them must see films.
