...I mean I didn't even like him that much...maybe I could use both hands to lift AND balance...or maybe just say to hell with it and get plowed...

Just wear pants, for God's sake.
Trust me, they get ALL bent out of shape if you don't

I should think so. And....who is this Paul person? Sounds like a rather lazy and egocentric fellow, wanting to be carried at someone else's funeral...

(As others have said, it would be extremely disrespectful to show up drunk. And, frankly, far more excusable and understandable by others if you *were* close with the decedent...very close....and had basically turned to drink in falling apart at the loss. It wouldn't be acceptable, don't get me wrong, but it would make more sense and be more...palatable...that an outright showing of such disrespect. Funeral first, and sober.)

If you didnt like him that much you should not have agreed to be a paul bearer, but since you are its best to show some respect and not drink. Its only for a few hours, you will be ok.

looks like I'm getting all my information in reverse. but things seemed to have turned out fine. that or you're on a 72 hour hold in the bin. get some rest and eat some of that good food that makes all the patients fart and squirm. a happy belly does wonders for the fit of a man's pants.

Please never go to a funeral home drunk. That is soooo disrespectable to not only the family but the staff at the funeral home that has to deal with you! Why did you even accept the position as pallbearer? Why not just turn it down and stay home and drink? Be respectable and mature about it all.

Stop drinking about a half hour before and you'll be fine. Sunglasses may help.

I sure hope this is a joke. Your cousin will be there in spirit and I am sure that is not how he wants you to mourn him on that day. I would hope you have some more respect and love for your family than that man!

You better sober up. Dropping the coffin would not be a good thing and the family would rag on you for years if that happened!
