"Entry level" means "cheaper". It will not have any of the extras, be lower on memory, hard drive space, and processor power then a mainstream laptop. When purchasing a laptop, always go for the best one you can get. Unlike a desktop, you can do very little to upgrade or improve a laptop once you have purchased it. You will be stuck with it for the next 3-5 years (average). So when buying, get the best you can possible afford. A couple hundred more now for a mainstream (or high end) is cheaper then having to buy a completely new laptop two years from now because this one was to "cheap".

the entry level laptops are cheap but don't offer high performance , mainstream have more performance, are better equiped, and might help you store more data and finish your work faster.
