Yeah, like not having to worry about being fired. No matter how bad you are they still gotta take you back everyday. If I skip a day I wasn't up to my a$$ in work when I returned, and I got to travel to other countries for under $1000. I am 32 and have only left the country once since High School ;-(

I never got a spanking but I was escorted to the office by way of imbedded fingernails pulling on my ear in 3rd grade - I don't miss that at all.

Actually, almost all of it. I was lucky enough to go to a small-town, old-fashioned school back in the 1950s. I remember when there was a real school library (in grade school, even!), and we were allowed to go get a book if we got done our classroom work, rather than disturb the other kids. Nowadays . . . oh, don't get me started on what public schools are like today!

I remember teachers who actually enjoyed talking to their students, discussing the things that mattered to them, walking around the playground holding conversation instead of being forced into "social interaction" with the other kids. I also remember teachers who actually insisted on good manners in their classroom.

But I was never spanked.

I really wish I had taken math so much more seriously.
Many times I didnt understand it & was too scared to look like an idiot to ask a question in front of the class.

I have often wanted to wander the hallways and shoot spitballs until some woman came out and threatened to paddle me. I sure wouldn't mind dusting her erasers for her these days.

I never appreciated my teachers. Of course, all they did was teach me to read, do math, see the world as a whole, and instruct me on the basic skills of interacting with others.

I wish I could thank them now.

Now, I appreciate them.
