If a cheetah and a horse were to race for a MILE (keep in mind a MILE) who do you think would win. I would say a horse since horses have more stamina. What do you think?

The horse. Cheetahs can run fast...but they don't have the energy to run long distances.

Ummmmmm....Hard.Because cheetah's can run for 60 miles an hour but only short distance but horses can run slower but with more stamina. It wouldd depend on the cheetah if the cheetah put on it's 60 mile an hour speed towards the finish line then the horse would stand no chance but if the cheetah ran it's 60 mile an hour run in the middle of the race the the horse would win a cert.I think a cheetah woul run it's 60 mile an hour before the finish line so i have to agree with u the horse would win.Well Done:0)

I agree the Horse will win a mile. But if the cheetah knew it was a race the cheetah should will. It can run 60 miles an hour thats only 1 minute for him. So I take it back the cheetah will win a mile

they are both good at these things because obviously the cheetah is the fastest land animal(by 70mph) in the entire world and horses(estimate of 10mph) have a type of power that cant run out as soon as the cheetahs that is why you always see horse races where horses are not the type to get tired but when you see a cheetah you know that they always give up(when trying to catch their pray is an example)so for speed the cheetah would win but for a winning mile would be...depends...how well trained and so many other things

A cheetah would beat a horse at a 60 mile race by 6 hours. Does that prove anything?

A horse. Cheetahs can only run at about 70 mphr for abou 20 seconds or so while horses can run at 45 to 50 mphr for the whole mile and possibly longer. If it was a short dash, sure the cheetah, but for long distance..horse no ands, ifs, or buts about it.

Even with a 1 mile race, the cheetah would probably win. The cheetah can maintain its top speed for more than just a "few seconds". Cheetahs also have much higher acceleration. I suspect the cheetah would have finished the race before the horse even got up to full speed. One mile just isn't very far.

I would have to say the cheetah based on this website stating:

"Cheetahs can maintain an average speed of 112km/h over an average chase distance of 3 miles."

So therefore if it were a mile, a cheetah would win. If it were a lot longer than that, then the horse.

A horse would definitely win over a mile. Cheetahs run much faster, something like 60mph, but only for very short distances. They use so much energy that they would probably be asleep by the time the horses finished!

a cheetah can only maintain bursts of extreme speed for a very short distance.. after 400 yards or so, it would probably start tiring out and walking.. so I'd say a horse would win in a mile race.. a cheetah would win in a 400 yard race though..
