I want my stuff in a small studio moved. They include mattress/box and a couple of small furniture from IKEA.

Moving is 210 miles, city to city.

What is the best mover there for this kind of moving?

Yourself and some friends and a one way rental truck. I did this moving from Florida to Arkansas.

There is no universal answer to this question. I have moved 17 times. I got a great move last time from United but I have also had not so good moves with United, also from Allied and Arpin, the move you get depends on who shows up to pack and whether the forklift operator, driver and others simply give a damn. Many don't. The one thing to do to ensure a better move is to go door to door, this eliminates the opportunity for them to beat up you stuff unloading and reloading it to a warehouse. House to house means, that the truck picks up your stuff, drives to the new place and offloads it. If you closely oversee packing, take your true valuables in the car with you and do a house do house, you should be okay. If your packers don't care about what they are doing, get on the phone with the company and demand different ones.

If you are not an experienced packer and are unwilling to get enough moving blankets, bubble wrap, stretch rap and a big enough truch not to have to overstuff it, then a mover is a better choice than beating your stuff up yourself and being unable to claim to someone for the damage.

You can do this task by yourself or hire services of professional movers. In case of hiring moving firm, it will be quite beneficial to you because your move may be less stressful, faster and more secure. So I suggest to look for a good removal firm rather than doing it yourself.

I agree with the statement above. Your better off doing it on your own.
Using a large company will cost you alot of money.

We did it on our own from LI, NY to NC and had a car carrier to carry my vehicle while I drove behind my husband in his car.
