AC/DC- You Shook me all Night Long: this reached #35 in 1980
Aerosmith- Janie's got a Gun : In 1991, this won a Grammy for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal.

Bon Jovi- Livin' on a Prayer :This is their signature song, spending four weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1987. It also hit number four on the UK singles chart.

Def Leppard- Pour Some Sugar on me: This reached number 2 on the U.S. Hot 100. It later became an MTV classic, and is generally regarded as their signature song.

Guns N Roses- Welcome to the Jungle: This was was Guns N' Roses' first music video, directed by Nigel Dick and filmed on August 1 and 2, 1987 at the Park Plaza Hotel and 450 S. La Brea Avenue in Hollywood.

Poison- Every Rose has it's Thorn: This was the band's first and only number-one hit in the U.S., reaching the top spot on Christmas Eve in 1988 for three weeks (carrying over into 1989). It was also a top 20 hit in the UK.

All of the hits have musical merit and their own success. I can not tell you I like any one over the other, they are all fantastic.

Welcome to the Jungle-Guns N' Roses

(Janie's Got a Gun would have been my second pick-a great era for Aerosmith; I've always liked Highway to Hell better than Back in Black; the other three are awful hair metal cheese at a time when the best music of the 80s was coming from U2, the Cure, Depeche Mode, the Smiths, New Order, the Cult, INXS and the Replacements.)

I agree w\ Mr. Anger---Jungle then You Shook Me and I think it's b\c they were pure rock and roll songs.

I actually like all 6 of these songs but no '80's hair metal ballad' (Poison) is better than WTJ & AC/DC. Pour Some..was fun but a little on the cheesy side w\ the synth drums. Janie was an OK song from actually my favorite band of this batch.

Prayer was a great song too and was right below Jungle & You Shook Me (off this list)

From Best to Worse:

Welcome to the Jungle
You Shook me all Night Long
Janie's got a Gun

Livin' on a Prayer
Pour Some Sugar on me
Every Rose has it's Thorn

It's really a tie. Three songs that rock, and three songs that suck.
