she sung the song Ironic, but when questioned in an interview about the meaning of irony, she did not know!!!!! now isnt that Ironic dont you think!!!!!!

Yeah, and also, all the examples of things that are ironic that she uses in her song are not actually examples of irony. An old man turning 98, winning the lottery, and dying the next day is sad, but not ironic. Now if the old man had died from a staph infection from a paper cut received by the very same winning lottery ticket, that would be irony.

indeedily doodily i was going to say a little too ironic but someone beat me to it. actually come to think about it nothing in that song is actually ironic just a bit sad or unfortunate.

The stuff she talks about in that song isn't really irony, it's just unfortunate.

Maybe because English is not her mother tongue?

A lot of artists write in another language and then it's translated for them and they learn it phonetically.

If I recall correctly she is French Canadian and her mother tongue is French not English.
