this is what wikipedia says:
Godzilla unleashes his fury upon Destoroyah, who is burned and torn apart by the fiery blasts. Sensing that it is going to lose the fight, Destoroyah takes to the skies to escape. The JSDF quickly turn their freeze masers on the escaping monster, destroying its wings. Destoroyah then plummets to the ground, the freezing blasts from the lasers causing its body to rapidly deteriorate. Destoroyah falls to the ground in front of Godzilla and evaporates into a cloud of mist on impact, finally destroyed.

Destoroyah gets blasted by the spiral ray from Burning Godzilla & tries to escape until the JSDF activates the freeze masers to Destoroyah, destroying him, isn't that Destoroyah can be also hurt with extreme heat even if it does NOT kill him?

when destroyah kills godzilla. godzilla has a meltdown and heals godzilla jr.'s injuries. godzilla jr. is the one who kills destroyah
